Welcome

The Gem Project is formally registered as a Non-Profit Organisation (NPO), a Non-Profit Company (NPC) and a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with B-BBEE Level 1 status.

We are a child & youth centred development organisation which aims to bring about meaningful, impactful and sustainable change in the lives of vulnerable children and youth at risk in Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province. We offer vulnerable children and youth an enabling environment which assists them in their personal and academic development and empowerment.  We focus on the holistic development of the beneficiary and provide physiological, psycho-social, educational, life skills, vocational and work readiness training.

For the youth beneficiaries, the Gem Project Youth Academy provides them with a 2nd chance to gain meaningful work related education and vocational work readiness skills training which equips them with functional skills to enter the world of work and to become responsible citizens.

What makes us different?

Our Gem children & youth are our unique difference!

We aim to make a difference by using the concept of ‘different’ in all we do.

Our kids are perceived as ‘different’ and we aim to prove being different is what makes you unique.

Our aim is to refine our rough gems into precious gemstones with the support and through the collective & collaborative efforts of the Gem multi-disciplined team and our strategic partners”

Different is our motto… The differences in rare Gem’s  increases its worth & value…

Our kids, our staff,  practical teaching methodology & our approach …

Together as ‘diversified’ we aim to make a difference…”
